The spark that ignited our passion
Our journey with miniature dachshunds began in childhood, where their unique personalities, steadfast loyalty, and fearless nature captured our hearts. A personal encounter with an unethically bred dog became a turning point, igniting our passion for understanding breed standards, prioritizing health and testing, while embracing ethical breeding practices. In 2020, we founded CLOUDKNINE Dachshunds, a CKC-registered purebred kennel, committed to raising exceptional miniature dachshunds with integrity and care.
The name ‘CLOUDKNINE’ embodies our childhood dream of breeding top-quality dogs. When the opportunity to realize this dream finally arrived, we felt as if we were on cloud nine. Adding a playful twist by incorporating the K9 aspect of dogs, we created the name we know today: CLOUDKNINE.

At CLOUDKNINE, our dogs are cherished family members first, and show dogs second. We believe that a loving home environment is paramount to their well-being and development. This philosophy guides our meticulous breeding program, where we typically breed only one or two litters annually, sometimes even skipping years. Each pairing is thoughtfully planned, considering temperament, health, and genetics, ensuring every puppy born into our family receives the best possible start in life.
Whisky's triumph: A defining moment
Our journey has been marked by many memorable moments, but none more profound than 'Whisky's' Best in Show win. BIS Can CH CLOUDKNINE Classic Old Fashioned (Whisky) took time to mature, build her confidence, and truly embrace the show ring. Patience for her development, combined with our dedicated and continued training, culminated in a spectacular win in beautiful British Columbia the summer of 2025. Whisky's achievement not only completed her Canadian Championship but also earned us our first Best in Show, proving that patience and perseverance truly pay off. She continues to be a strong foundation for the future of our kennel.
